We’re thrilled to announce that the 3rd Annual Birdies for Babies Charity Golf Tournament will take place on Monday, June 22, 2026. Mark your calendars—we can’t wait to welcome you back to Rideau View Golf Club for another meaningful day on the course in support of families and newborns in our community.
As we look ahead, we’re also reflecting with deep gratitude on what this event has already made possible. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our golfers, sponsors, and supporters, the 2025 tournament raised over $73,000—enough to purchase two neonatal ventilators for CHEO through the Sandra Schmirler Foundation.
That brings the Birdies for Babies total to more than $130,000 in just two years, directly funding life-saving equipment for the tiniest patients who need it most. It’s a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together for a cause that matters.
As our 2025 guest speaker Sara Miller shared so beautifully: “It’s about the people, it’s about the families, it’s about the hardest moments of someone’s life. It’s about ensuring that babies have the chance to grow up, chase dreams and become champions in their own way. Your generosity ensures that my mom’s legacy doesn’t end with her passing, but continues with every life saved, every family supported, and every baby that’s given a chance.”
We can’t wait to make an even bigger impact together in 2026.
Stay tuned for registration details.
Since 2001, the Sandra Schmirler Foundation has raised and given over $9 million to purchase life-saving equipment for NICUs in over 100 hospitals in every Canadian province and territory, including over $300,000 for babies in Ottawa hospitals. The lives of thousands of premature and critically ill babies have been saved because of the Sandra Schmirler Foundation.
The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) is a pediatric health-care and research centre located in Ottawa. CHEO is also a tertiary trauma centre for children in Eastern Ontario, Nunavut, Northern Ontario and the Outaouais region of Quebec and one of only seven Level I trauma centres for children in Canada.
